Summary: Through two teaching innovation projects of the University of Oviedo, we have tried to show how it is possible to conjugate the classic objectives of the learning of Roman Law -to provide the knowledge of Roman legal institutions as a means of acquiring the entire conceptual basis that will be needed in the study of the rest of the legal branches and for the understanding of comparative Law - with modern technologies, which provide a learning environment with which the current student is more familiar. The channels followed have been: 1) search, creation and development of digital didactic resources to be introduced into the learning process (interactive tests, crosswords and other online exercises) 2) use of gamification and mobile learning to increase motivation through the use of audience response tools such as Socrative and Kahoot and 3) implementation of activities to promote the good use of technologies and information sources through the Internet at the service of learning (development of a virtual portfolio with the main Roman law sources of knowledge; Facebook group and magazine on Flipboard with news of interest for the subject
