Summary: Peer tutoring is one that involves students serving as tutors for other students who are either in the same or in a lower-level course.  It is a form of tutoring that has great tradition in Anglo-Saxon universities, but which had hardly been used in our country. However, in the last years, because of the demands in terms of support and orientation on the part of the European Higher Education Area, and thanks to different types of experiences conducted at some Spanish universities, it undergoes a process of revitalization.
