Summary: The colombian legal system, like others in the same tradition, includes a series of legal actions in favor of the creditor whose interest was not satisfied with the debtor’s performance. Each of these actions has different legal effects, even in certain cases different expiration terms, but their trigger events overlap, leading to questions about compatibility (whether their exercise can be cumulative, alternative, or excluding). The Consumer regulation added further complexity with the introduction of the "legal warranty" (Law 1480/2011), that brought improved consumer rights protection but also created gaps and inconsistencies within the existing legal system.
