However, a series of modifications are introduced to make the previous regulation more flexible and to meet the best interest of the child. In addition, some rules on the enforcement of decisions are harmonized. With these solutions the European legislator tries to respond to the deficiencies detected in the application of Regulation 2201/2003.La principal novedad del Reglamento (UE) 2019/1111 es la supresión del exequátur para la ejecución transfronteriza de todas las resoluciones en materia de responsabilidad parental, conservando al mismo tiempo un trato más favorable para las que conceden derechos de visita y determinadas resoluciones que implican la restitución del menor. No obstante, se introducen una serie de correcciones para flexibilizar la rigidez de la anterior regulación y atender de forma más concreta al interés superior del menor. Además, se armonizan algunas reglas sobre la ejecución.
