Summary: The research was based on the objective of analyzing the obligation to provide food for pregnant women and minors as primary care in Ecuador. It was based on a quantitative approach through a descriptive documentary methodology with a non-experimental bibliographic design. Children and adolescents as well as pregnant women are part of the group of people with priority attention, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador. The Childhood and Adolescence Code is the normative body that ensures compliance with the rights and duties of children and adolescents, the same that according to their needs as time passes has had to be subject to reforms.
