Summary: The purpose of this article is to present some of the general aspects of the Guatemalan Constitutional System, starting with some elements of the constitutional history that have affected our country since the colonial period up to date. Afterwards the constitutional control system will be explained in a general matter, as well as the unconstitutionalities in concrete an general cases, and the amparo and personal exhibitions mechanisms that focus on protecting the people. All these aspects under the surveillance of the Constitutional Court, entity in charge of constitutional interpretation.
