Summary: Normally, gender analyses of the world of labour, in particular from its legal development, have been aimed at figures such as access to employment, the precarious working conditions of women, the glass ceiling, and the application of the principle of equal pay work and access to social security benefits, among others. However, other institutions with a broader sense permeate labour law, such as collective negotiation and strikes, which, from the point of view of women’s work, have not had the same development. Hence, the Advisory Opinion of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights can initiate or revitalize discussions that nourish labour law in general and those of collective nature in particular.
