Summary: The pandemic forced the confinement and, consequently, the closure of many activities around the world, including educational ones. In relation to education at the higher level, the universities have adapted the entire institutional organization, the contents of the study plans and the didactic strategies to the needs of the students and the context of virtualized pedagogical work in order to give pedagogical continuity to the process. educational. The methodology used for this research work is part of a documentary bibliographic review. The data collection technique is made up of electronic materials, the latter such as Google Scholar, PubMed, among others, relying on the use of descriptors in health sciences or MESH terminology. The information obtained here will be reviewed for further analysis. Virtual teaching does not improve the practical skills of future nursing professionals, theory can be taught virtually, but practice cannot be left to virtual simulation alone, a nursing student needs to apply theory in real environments , with real patients, virtual simulation can never replace the feelings, complaints, thoughts of a patient or what he may feel, while virtuality cannot predict the changes in a real environment that may present to a patient in an emergency area or other hospital environment and for which the nursing staff must be attentive and trained to deal with such a situation.
