Therefore, it has been postulated that ultrasonic activation is better than sonic activation for the removal of both organic and inorganic material. This research contains documentary bibliographic review information. The technique for data collection is made up of printed and electronic materials, the latter such as Google Scholar, Scielo, PubMed, among others. Despite the fact that ultrasonic activation is more widely accepted than sonic, there are multiple studies where no significant differences are found as to which technique is better, which will depend on many factors such as the type of dental piece, its handling, for which type of pathology is going to be used, among others, which suggests that experimental studies must continue to be carried out to determine with greater precision which activation method is better or definitively if both are better.
