Summary: In violence in sexual minority couples there are certain risk factors that make it difficult for victims toseek help or access support services. This paper presents a systematic review of the different sourcesof support for victims, considering the barriers in the process of seeking help. Of 198 studies reviewed,41 were pre-selected and of these 12 studies that met the methodological inclusion criteria wereselected. The results of this research show that not all victims request help for different personal, social, and institutional reasons. Among the different sources of support for victims who do startthe help-seeking process, the formal support of psychological counseling is significant, combiningin many cases with the informal support of friends. This review finds limitations in the analyzedliterature and points out recommendations for future research.
