Sumario: Nursing professionals maintain stress and an unhealthy lifestyle, due to full working days and night shifts where free time is used for rest, thus avoiding exercise, and causing sedentarism; it was also observed that many factors depend on the area of work where they were emergency and critical care since they are exposed to the suffering and death of patients. The present research aimed to determine the relationship between work stress and healthy lifestyle in nursing personnel. The article was a qualitative research, which is supported by scientific articles published between several years ago and nowadays 2022, taking into account research on work stress and healthy habits of nursing personnel, according to its scope it is a descriptive type of research. A study conducted by the American Institute of Stress indicated that the main factor of stress is 80% work-related and 40% of the stress is due to workplace turnover. The stress of nursing professionals affects more the night shift with 78.9%, followed by the day shift with 13.2%, and finally in fixed morning shifts with 7.9%. It is shown that the lack of physical activity, rest, recreation, nutrition, hygiene and the use of harmful substances cause the nursing staff to have stress and an unhealthy lifestyle.
