The following general objective was established "Analyze how strategic marketing contributes to the sales of formal businesses in the urban area of Canton Jipijapa" through a quantitative, qualitative and bibliographic approach framed in a descriptive and analytical methodology, collecting data in books and national and international scientific journals. The results showed that the formal premises of the Canton face some problems, among them the lack of knowledge of strategic marketing strategies, being a great limitation for their business and economic development.
