Summary: The violence exercised on any human being can expose them to suffer negative effects on their physical and mental health, in the case of women, the consequences of suffering this scourge not only influence their person, but, in case of being in a state of pregnancy can increase the risk of suffering pathological conditions of the mother and child. There are some biological markers that can guide the diagnostic confirmation of such effects on health, the objective is to study the levels of plasma cortisol in women victims of gender violence. Bibliographic resources will be applied to theoretically orient the hypothesis proposed through qualitative research of academic and scientific production of the variables. It is expected to demonstrate the positive and direct relationship between violence and its severity with the plasma level of cortisol in women.
