Summary: In recent decades, justice policies have been insisting on the need to promote better care, greater participation and more restorative intervention towards victims of crime. All these claims should involve, among other things, information and access to restorative justice services (mainly penal mediation). Although the debates on restorative justice highlight that it can be a good option to complement the shortcomings of ordinary criminal justice in meeting the needs of victims, the truth is, however, that there are many conditions that make it difficult for victims to have access to criminal mediation. This study takes a qualitative and quantitative approach to these conditions, taking the case of the Autonomous Community of Aragon as a reference.
