description
Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is a common clinical syndrome, characterized by infection of the upper genital tract. The methodology used for this research work is part of a bibliographic review of documentary type, since we are going to deal with issues raised at a theoretical level such as pelvic inflammatory disease. Management and complications. The technique for data collection is made up of electronic materials, the latter such as Google Scholar, PubMed, among others, relying on the use of descriptors in health sciences or MESH terminology. The information obtained here will be reviewed for further analysis. As has been analyzed within the process of this investigation, this pathology is not infrequent, it is associated with the beginning of sexual relations and can be related to the number of sexual partners that the woman has had, which is considered risky sexual behavior. Its most characteristic symptomatology is lower abdominal or pelvic pain, inflammation of the vaginal tract, in terms of diagnosis, ultrasound is the most used imaging technique, treatment is justified when the symptomatology begins, which must be broad-spectrum for a increased coverage against the most likely pathogens. The sexual partner must be included in the treatment, as long as the sexual contact has been 60 days prior to the onset of symptoms.
