Summary: This paper responds to a descriptive and correlational research, with a quantitative approach, based on the characteristics of labor supply and demand registered by the Red Socio Empleo (RSE) and data from the Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INEC), the purpose is answer to the following question: Has RSE managed to reduce labor informality in 2016? The results obtained show that the contribution of this employment exchange is minimal, since contracts made through the platform constitute only 0.6% of total formal employment in Ecuador. Some important causes are the small number of companies registered in the network, as well as the non-compliance with the characteristics of the vacancies such as experience and area of training.
