Nowadays it is possible to find in our Autonomous Community urban planning regulations of a local and regulatory nature that expressly allow the construction of gated communities.As urbanizacións pechadas naceron nos Estados Unidos e en poucos anos comezaron a proliferar por toda América Latina. En España o momento álxido dos condominios foron os anos 60 do século XX, ao abeiro da Lei do solo de 1956. En Galicia, aínda que existen varios exemplos de condominios, o máis paradigmático é o da illa de Toralla en Vigo, autorizado nesa época. Na actualidade é posible atopar na nosa comunidade autónoma normas urbanísticas de ámbito local e carácter regulamentario que permiten expresamente a construción de condominios.Las urbanizaciones cerradas nacieron en los Estados Unidos y en pocos años comenzaron a proliferar por toda América Latina. En España el momento álgido de los condominios fueron los años 60 del siglo XX, al amparo de la Ley del suelo de 1956. En Galicia, aunque existen varios ejemplos de condominios, el más paradigmático es el de la isla de Toralla en Vigo, autorizado en esa época.
