To do so, an analysis is made that starts from the general to the particular, that is, from the national to the regional perspective, in which the figures of violence against women in the family and in the couple are studied in depth. It makes a legal and historical review of the protection measures established from Law 294 of 1996 and 575 of 2000 to Law 1257 of 2008 and Regulatory Decree 4799 of 2011, standards that, according to the literature reviewed are not sufficiently effective, since the context of violence against women persists, despite the existence of mechanisms such as the regional route for the attention of cases of gender-based violence.Este artigo foi realizado com o objetivo de analisar a eficácia das normas sobre medidas de proteção às mulheres vítimas de violência na família e no companheiro em Medellín. Para tanto, foi realizada uma análise do geral ao particular, do nacional ao regional que se aprofunda nas figuras da violência na família e no companheiro contra a mulher. Realização de roteiro jurídico e histórico das medidas de proteção instituídas desde as leis 294 de 1996 e 575 de 2000 à lei 1257 de 2008 e decreto regulamentar 4799 de 2011, Normas que de acordo com os números obtidos não permitem garantir a sua eficácia devido ao contexto existente de violência contra a mulher, apesar da existência de mecanismos como a rota regional proposta para o atendimento de casos de violência de gênero.En esta investigación se analiza la efectividad de las normas referentes a las medidas de protección para mujeres víctimas de violencia en la familia y en la pareja, en Medellín. Para ello se efectúa un análisis que parte de lo general hacia lo particular, es decir, desde la perspectiva nacional a la regional, en el cual se profundiza en torno a las cifras de violencia contra las mujeres en la familia y la pareja.
