Methodologically, an analysis is carried out on the difficulties that it implies for the countries of the periphery that food is seen as a service and not as a right that should be protected, as well as the fact that food is considered as a good susceptible to be commodified finally, food sovereignty is proposed as a way to deal with the global food crisis.Este artigo aborda uma curta reflexão sobre a crise alimentar no mundo, a fome e as guerras globais pelos alimentos, no marco da disputa pela hegemonia alimentar. Na metodologia, se mostra uma análise sobre as dificuldades que passam os países da periferia para que a alimentação seja vista como um serviço e não um direito que deve ser protegido, assim como o fato dos alimentos serem considerados um bem susceptível de ser mercantilizado.
