Summary: The present scientific work addresses one of the current problems in relation to the training of research skills in students of the Sociology career. The subject is focused on the design of a strategy for the formation of research competences in students through the integration of the academic, labor and research components during the first cycle. The theoretical fundamental method used pointed to the analysis -synthesis, due to the need during the bibliographic review of the decomposition of the research competences in order to determine which were essential to develop in the students through the proposed strategist. The most relevant result is the creation of the "Investigative Communities" as a methodological strategy through the integration of the academic, labor and research components. The population of the university community collaborated fully with each of the academic activities formulated by the teacher and their participation was decisive in the development of the surveys and in obtaining the results, it was possible to verify the true usefulness of the hypothesis or assumption and the statistical percentages allowed to continue forward in the investigation, culminating with the guiding guide to enhance the academic training of students, motivating the study of research skills.
