Laburpena: Disasters in Chile are part of its history and nature, however, the acceptance of its geographical and geological conditions makes it necessary for the State to consider as a challenge the planning and development of mechanisms of action before them. The last decades have been marked by the occurrence of earthquakes, floods, mega-fires, tsunamis, among others, leaving in doubt whether the Risk Management for the Chilean State is fully addressed in catastrophe contexts. Based on this, the following research pays attention to knowing what the State’s capabilities are, in order to contribute to position management and risk planning in the country.
