Laburpena: Adequate food and care during pregnancy are crucial to prevent the development of anemias in newborns, after birth exclusive breastfeeding until at least months of age is vital to reduce the risks of anemia, of course associated to a good diet after 6 months of age. The research methodology is of a bibliographic review type. The most important conclusions are that risk factors are associated with malnutrition, anemia in pregnant wom-en, low birth weight at birth or prematurity. However, the treatments are aimed at raising iron levels either orally or intravenously, depending on the type of patient, food is also essential since there are foods that have high iron content.
