This paper seeks for the concept and the principal features of the innovation, like a phenomenon which troughs the national task, with the target to adopt elements that allow their academic implementation, in the University of Antioquia implementation.La innovación, como tema central en el debate contemporáneo, plantea variadas dificultades, que van desde su propia conceptualización hasta la decisión del tipo y estrategia a utilizar, en caso de su implementación, y los caminos a seguir en dicho proceso, la determinación y articulación de actores y el diseño e implementación de políticas públicas al respecto en todos los niveles de actividad política, económica y académica.
