Summary: In the chair of General Theory of Criminal Law it is very important that the student develops a critical attitude through the analysis of what the crime is, since in general terms it must know three fundamental theories namely: The Theory of Criminal Law, Crime Theory and Theory of Penalties and Security Measures; fundamental theories in the teaching of Criminal Law. So this article will address the Theory of Crime to explain and understand the crime its positive and negative elements: conduct and absence of conduct, typicity and atypicality, unlawfulness and causes of justification, imputability and causes of imputability and guilt and causes of inculpability, from a perspective in the current Mexican legal system, applied to criminal law in the State of Mexico
