Sumario: The International Competition of Arbitration and Commercial Law (hereinafter, MOOTmadrid), organized by the Carlos III University of Madrid and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (CNUDMI/UNCITRAL) represents an appropriate educational tool in order to acquire or develop certain basic competences required by the implementation of the competence-based learning process in the Degree in Law of the Jaume I University. Oral skills are a prime example amongst these competences. Thereby, this paper assesses the development of oral skills acquired by the students through their participation in arbitral proceedings simulations. An opinion questionnaire has been employed for that purpose. Subsequently, proposals for improving the teaching methodology are made, with a view to enhance the proper development of these skills for future editions of the competition.
