Summary: The aim of this paper is to analyze the personal and temporal variables of the people who have been sanctioned for drinking in public in the city of Guadala-jara. To this end, a total of 2,068 sanctions imposed by the local police of Gua-dalajara for conduct regulated in their ordinance of coexistence related to the consumption of beverages in public have been analyzed. The investigation pe-riod covers eight years, from 2008 to 2016. The conduct sanctioned is regulated by the Guadalajara ordinance on coexistence, which was drafted due to an in-crease in "insecurity" associated with civic problems. The city of Guadalajara was one of the first cities to approve these new models of governance, which numerous city councils in our country have been incorporating into their regu-lations in recent years, with the aim of protecting public space from uncivic be-haviour such as the well-known phenomenon of the botellón.
