This work is conceived as a result of a larger general study developed by Centro de Estudios Jurídicos y Formación Especializada. Although more aspects are analysed in the general study, this publication presents descriptive results about the characteristics of those people who go through conditional release as well as different modalities of third penitentiary degree. The sample of this work is made up of 1.567 people who, at some moment in 2012, were in the modality of Dependent Unit, article 86.4 RP or conditional release. A descriptive study presents the different sociodemographic, personal, criminal and penitentiary variables of all these subjects. The results of this study indicate which are the lines of application of these compliance modalities in Catalonia and allow for an initial and approximate idea regarding the general characteristics of its users.

Si bien en el estudio general se trabajan y analizan muchos más aspectos, en esta publicación se pretenden presentar resultados descriptivos sobre las características de aquellas personas que pasan por libertad condicional y diferentes modalidades de 3r grado penitenciario. La muestra de este trabajo se compone de un total de 1.567 personas que en algún momento del año 2012 estaban cumpliendo en modalidad de Unidad Dependiente, artículo 86.4 RP o libertad condicional. Se ha realizado un estudio descriptivo de distintas variables sociodemográficas, personales, penales y penitenciarias de todos estos sujetos. Los resultados de este estudio apuntan cuáles son las líneas de aplicación de estas modalidades de cumplimiento en Cataluña, y permiten hacerse una idea inicial y aproximada en relación a las características generales de los usuarios de éstas.
