For this purpose, the object of this study is the early exhumations that occurred in some Spanish provinces during 1979 approximately, because it constitutes a paradigmatic case of the need to adopt a pan- European Memory policy. The methodology used was based fundamentally on oral sources and on the Oral History theoretical framework. The results show the intensity and magnitude of the phenomenon, which contrasts with the minimum attention granted at that time by the media and later by historiography.Esta investigación pretende poner de manifiesto la necesidad de definir una Memoria Histórica Europea inclusiva, integradora y transversal, que no sólo aborde el origen de la Unión Europea en el contexto de los totalitarismos y de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, sino que contemple los casos nacionales de violación de los derechos humanos en procesos represivos, bajo un enfoque comúnmente aceptado y auspiciado por programas concretos de la UE. Para ello, tiene como objeto de estudio las exhumaciones tempranas ocurridas en algunas provincias españolas durante 1979 aproximadamente, en la medida en que constituye un caso paradigmático de la necesidad de adoptar una política de memoria paneuropea. La metodología utilizada se basó fundamentalmente en fuentes orales y en el marco teórico de la Historia Oral.
