In Europe, the European Community was responsible for this work, while in Latin America it was the Latin American Free Trade Association (LAFTA). The European Union and the Latin American Integration Association (LAIA) continued with the integrationist tasks, reaching their activity until today, despite the differences. Regarding the relationships between these organizations, it will be seen how they have evolved from their inception in the 1960s to the XXI century, thus being able to observe the objectives of each part.Durante la segunda mitad del siglo XX comenzaron a desarrollarse los procesos de integración regional en Europa y América Latina con el objetivo de construir mercados comunes, uniendo política y económicamente a todos los países posibles en ambas regiones. En Europa, la Comunidad Europea fue la encargada de esta labor, mientras que en América Latina fue la Asociación Latinoamericana de Libre Comercio (ALALC). La Unión Europea y la Asociación Latinoamericana de Integración (ALADI) continuaron con los cometidos integracionistas, llegando su actividad hasta la actualidad, pese a las diferencias.
