Summary: During the second half of the XX century began to develop the processes of regional integration in Europe and Latin America with the aim of building common markets, uniting politically and economically to all possible countries in both regions. In Europe, the European Community was responsible for this work, while in Latin America it was the Latin American Free Trade Association (LAFTA). The European Union and the Latin American Integration Association (LAIA) continued with the integrationist tasks, reaching their activity until today, despite the differences. Regarding the relationships between these organizations, it will be seen how they have evolved from their inception in the 1960s to the XXI century, thus being able to observe the objectives of each part.
