Summary: The purpose of this article is to locate the problematic of violence against women within a broad time in history and to give an account of how these processes endure in the territories of the provinces. We consider that with the expansion of modern capitalism differet forms of exploitative violence over territories -not only lands- and people have worsened. There is a historic milestone in the convergence of the beginning of Europe, Latin America, the modernity and capitalism with the genocide of women and oppressed populations that becomes evident through the concept of coloniality of power, which shows how this violent expansion last over time. Santiago del Estero, as a border land for capital is exposed to different forms and expressions of violence. A province where the conflict between tradition and colonial-state modernity is still current, harming people's and specially women's lives.
