The rise of these new instruments has led to, on the one side, discordant and interesting legal rulings both from european and national courts and, on the other side, the adoption of new regulations on data protection matters, with explicit reference to its treatment in the work sphere. Nevertheless, so far, nothing has been said about the numerous conflicts that may arise when installing these systems to control the performance of domestic workers.Las nuevas tecnologías de la comunicación y de la información han tenido un profundo impacto en las relaciones laborales. La video vigilancia constituye un común método de control de la prestación laboral, no obstante, afecta derechos fundamentales de los trabajadores, tales como la intimidad personal y familiar, la propia imagen y la protección de datos personales. El incremento de estos nuevos instrumentos ha dado lugar, por un lado, a discordantes e interesantes pronunciamientos de tribunales tanto europeos como nacionales y, por otro lado, a la adopción de nuevas normativas en materia de protección de datos, con expresa referencia a su tratamiento en el ámbito laboral.
