This impulse, born several decades ago from the heart of the European Union with the aim of boosting the activity of those companies that, despite having moderate capital have been supporting the business fabric of the countries of the Union; It has also been reflected -as it could not be otherwise- in the transposition of the fourth generation directives to the Spanish legal system by adopting measures that, directly and indirectly, aim to increase the participation of this type of companies in the public business of contracting. After a year since the entry into force of these measures in Spain, we will analyze in this article, how these measures have been implemented in the contractual activity and at what point of adaptation are the companies to which they are directed.La publicación en el año 2014 de las últimas Directivas Europeas en materia de contratación pública, han significado un impulso definitivo para fomentar y facilitar el acceso de las pyme’s a las contrataciones de las diferentes administraciones públicas. Este impulso, nacido varias décadas atrás desde el seno de la Unión Europea con la finalidad de potenciar la actividad de aquellas empresas que, a pesar de contar con un capital moderado han venido sustentando el tejido empresarial de los países de la Unión; también se ha visto reflejado -como no podía ser de otra manera- en la transposición de las Directivas Europeas de cuarta generación al ordenamiento jurídico español al adoptar medidas que, de manera directa e indirecta, pretenden redundar en un incremento de la participación de este tipo de empresas en el negocio público de la contratación.
