Summary: This article studies the right to a maternal-paternal filiation as a guarantee of full biological identity of children. The investigation considers concepts such as: filiation, recognition, biological truth, parental authority, evidence of filiation; for which the regulation of these rights contained in the Mexican Political Constitution and the Convention on the Rights of children is taken into account; by the General Law on the Rights of children and adolescents and the relative articles of the Mexico City Civil Code. The analysis includes the interpretations that take into consideration different concepts and their corresponding regulations that make up the national doctrine, foreign and federal courts, in order to identify its applies to protect the Mexican children rights, and as a way to justify a proposal for a legal reform to the Mexico City Civil Code.
