In higher education teachers and students are exposed and immersed in a digital and innovative culture. Nowadays, the use of mobile devices has become a basic daily requirement, but most importantly it has become part of the development of the teaching learning process. Nevertheless, in this new information and communication society there is not a full awareness that digital tools can be used for communication, research, and even tutoring, and not just as entertainment tools. The present study describes the concepts of web 2.0 tools and the action of tutorials in higher education. Every technological innovation and incorporation carried out in education needs more diffusion, divulgation, compromise and integration; specially, the manner in which tutorials are managed. Tutorials are understood as an inherent activity to the teaching learning process, and not as an eminently extra academic activity. In web 2.0 tool podcasts are introduced as an alternative to digital recorded audio files which are saved into audio streams, so as to be later diffused and listened to in any place where there is internet connection, aiming at innovating and upgrading academic tutorials.

In web 2.0 tool podcasts are introduced as an alternative to digital recorded audio files which are saved into audio streams, so as to be later diffused and listened to in any place where there is internet connection, aiming at innovating and upgrading academic tutorials.En la Educación Superior, docentes y estudiantes estamos expuestos e inmersos en la cultura de la digitalización e innovación, el uso de dispositivos móviles se está convirtiendo en un requerimiento básico en la vida diaria, pero sobre todo se inmiscuyen ya en el desarrollo de los procesos de enseñanza aprendizaje, pues en la nueva sociedad de la información y comunicación todavía no hay conciencia plena de que las herramientas digitales sirven para comunicar, investigar y por qué no para la tutoría, pues se las considera todavía como instrumentos de entretenimiento. El estudio realizado es una descripción de la situación conceptual sobre las herramientas web 2.0 y la acción tutorial en la Educación Superior. Toda innovación e incorporación de la tecnología a la educación requiere de mayor difusión, divulgación, compromiso e integración, e incluso manejar de mejor manera la tutoría concibiéndola como una actividad inherente a la enseñanza aprendizaje y no como una carga eminentemente académica.
