Summary: Woman's occupational health problems have been little and insufficiently studied. Most research in this field is oriented toward the relationship of working conditions with birth outcomes. The prevailing belief is that women's employment is safe. High morbidity rates in women are explained by greater biological and psychological susceptibility. These beliefs are barriers in the development of research in woman's occupational health. Occupational health research basically demostrates causal agents and focuses illness, industry and male workers. The worksenvironments in woman 's occupational health are caracterized by synergic actions of productive and domestic working conditions on health. We conclude that it is necessary to recreate the concept of work, to use early and sensitive indicators, and to apply methodological diversity in research. In order to produce changes, we propose the linking of workers and researchers for clarifying health problems as well as working and living conditions.
