Summary: A survey was done on 285 workers who sought medical attention at the Office Occupational Health Services at the Unidad de Medicina Familiar, No. 45 (Family Health Care Center) of the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (lMSS). De survery shouwed that 80 percent of the people was satisfied with the care they received from the staff. A similar tendency was observed when the variables showing patient satisfaction and the variable used to stimate the process intercected. The process variables are: physical space, furniture good organization and cleanliness, comfortable quarters, good services, and a good informative policy. This trend also applied to those workers who sought medical assistance at a later time. lnmediate assistance and waiting time were the variables which were taken into account. In a further analysis some variables behaved differently. For example, when the opinion of the workers who went to the Office Occupational Health Services on subsequent visits was analyzed, an inverse relationship was observed between the number of times services were requested and assistance was given. lt is, therefore, suggested that the following points be included in future studies: a) a theoretical and methodological definition occupational health services with all the inherent specificitie thereof; b) a limitation of the subject under study for each particular phase under study structure, process, or results; c)the selection of ideal variables to do this tipe of study.
