Summary: Inside the framework of Spanish Foreign Policy, relations between Spain and Maghreb have been an essential projection since the XX century. These relations are included among the most important Spanish national and strategic interests. Since the 90 decade, their features have changed according the evolution of the Mediterranean region and the international order. This article analyzes this development and, the second part, will be focused in the changes happened after the 11-S terrorist attacks.
