The spreading of audiovisual documentation of trials would ease that work, but brings some legal difficulties, from an academic point of view: they include restrictions on proceedings publicity to non-party or non interested, or the terms of data protection rulings, that follow the European Union directives. The study indicates the position of the Spanish Council for the Judiciary, and suggests alternatives, according to the Spanish Constitutional Court doctrine about camera access to court hearings. Among others, it is suggested the creation of one university-based platform for the filming of trials for teaching purposes.Estudio sobre el papel que el uso de filmaciones de juicios como herramienta académica, en consideración al desconocimiento que el estudiante medio (y no pocos docentes) tienen de la dinámica procesal, y también al papel destacado que la oralidad juega actualmente en el proceso. La generalización de la documentación audiovisual de juicios facilitaría la labor, pero se plantean problemas jurídicos de no sencilla solución: entre ellos, las restricciones a la publicidad de las actas de los procesos a quienes no sean parte o interesados, o las condiciones de la legislación de protección de datos, siguiendo la de la Unión Europea. El estudio indica la posición del Consejo General del Poder Judicial, y propone alternativas, a partir de la doctrina del Tribunal Constitucional sobre acceso de cámaras a las vistas judiciales.
