The present study aims to study the proposals of two draft laws for direct elections of the Parliament of Southern Common Market in the face of attempted institutional improvement in the economic integration of the regional economic block. For this, we make a digression on direct elec- tions and the issue of the democratic deficit in Southern Common Market, including the pursuit of a balanced electoral system. After then we review two Brazilian legislative proposals for direct elections in Southern Common Market that enable outline the treatment of the issue in Brazil to implement an electoral legislative review of the Southern Common Market’s democracy that get access the region’s population to sub-regional governmental instances governmental. |
