Summary: This paper discusses the term "interdisciplinary / multidisciplinary" in the light of different documents Conferences and environmental regulatory area. We point out that the term is inserted and related to the content and practice of education oriented toward solving the real problems of the environment through interdisciplinary approaches and an active and responsible participation of each individual and the collective. With this, we note that understanding the interdependence of interdisciplinarity forward to multiple social determinations, the term implies to consider the relevance of "totality" in relations between society and nature to formulate own critique of Environmental Education. In this sense, the critical environmental education requires a systematic process to organize the construction of critical knowledge, attitudes, values, political, social and historical. Finally, we point out that the challenge for critical environmental education is interdisciplinary in its reflection to rise to the challenges of society called capitalist society precisely delineating a critical theory at the level of the current social, cultural and political are governed by mode capitalist production.
