The fact is that we talk about insecurity considering some isolated and colorfully cases, no matter how horrible or serious they are. Yet we do not talk about the actual numbers of criminality we endure as part of this community. It seems to be that 'insecurity' and 'criminality" go hand in hand as synonyms. Well, they are not Late modernists tend lo disagree wilh postmodernist. They argue that the polilical, ideological and social support is alike. However, il is also argued that this consideration does not seem very convincing.Es tema central en las agendas gubemamentales de cualquier nivel la cuestión de la llamada inseguridad. Dia a día somos bombardeados por noticlas que circulan en todos los medios de comunlcación en todas sus variantes (radio, TV, diarios, intemet) acerca de noticias relacionadas con esta temática, y los programas de debate televisivo invitan frecuentemente a "especialistas" que ensayan diversas recetas para paliar la problemática con mucha liviandad, Lo cierto es que se habla siempre de inseguridad mencionando determinados casos aislados y resonantes dentro de la comunidad, por aberrantes o graves, pero no se habla de los números reales de la criminalidad que padecemos como parte de esta comunidad. Da la sensaci6n de que "inseguridad" y 'criminalldad" serían sinónimos, cuando en realidad no es así. Algunos autores no consideran que la posmodemidad sea tal, sino que hablan de modernidad tardía. En realidad, el argumento que esgrimen para llamarla así no termina de convencer.
