The so-called Sugar Act, Act n. 24,822, which was
passed in September 1997, is presented as a case outside the
traditional parameters of the formation of Argentina foreign
policy since the legislative branch actively participates in our
country. Through this work, we try to reconstruct this process,
somewhat neglected in the literature on the subject, in order to
understand its impact on the relationship of Brazil and Mercosur,
as well as outlining some reflections on the present role of
Parliament in these issues. |
