Among those stages I show the different constitutional models which were created and their theoretical support.Je propose dans cet essai une périodisation de l�histoire constitutionnelle comparée, fondée sur un critère plus temporel que spatial. Quatre étapes sont ici distinguées : l�étape originelle (1688-1776) située en Grande-Bretagne, l�étape révolutionnaire (1776-1814) qui se déroule aux Etats-Unis, en France et dans le monde hispanique ; celle du XIX siècle (1814-1917) où est souligné le contraste entre le constitutionnalisme européen et celui d�outre-Atlantique, enfin, l�étape de l�entre-deux guerres (1917-1939) qui, dans une grande mesure, est à l�origine du constitutionnalisme actuellement en vigueur.
