Summary: In this essay I suggest chronological frameworks of the Constitutional History using more temporal than geographical criteria. I distinguish four phases: the original (1688-1776) which was developed in Great Britain; the revolutionary (1776-1814) which is located in US, France and the Spanish world; the XIXth century stage (1814-1917), which shows the contrast between European and American constitutionalism; and finally the stage between the two World Wars (1917-1939), which is mainly the source of the present constitutionalism. Among those stages I show the different constitutional models which were created and their theoretical support.
