Summary: In this paper, I analyze the political and regulatory transformations that preceded Act27610, which decriminalized and legalized abortion since December 2020. The analysis focuses on the transformations that took place in three areas: firstly, on legal provisions, whose transformations were the result of the juridification of non-punishable abortion cases; secondly, on political decisions that could refer to avariety of issues, although in this work the focus is put on the proceduralization of the exceptions to the criminalization of abortion included in the 1921 Penal Code(that is, in the version prior to the modifications introduced by Act27610); and thirdly on bureaucratic practices, which refer to the healthcare professionals' actions aimed at guaranteeing access to abortion. These transformations were the result of the incidence of feminism movements on the Stateand they constitute the necessary background in the process of abortion legalization though Act 27610, passed in December 2020.
