We also found that the health crisis did not trigger an economic crisis of the magnitude predicted by some experts. This research, based on the field observations of one of the authors as an occupational risk prevention technician in different companies, investigates the social dispositions and habitus that have contributed to this «immunity» from business profit rates, with an unusual efficiency and agility, in a rather informal and immanent way. In short, we try to study that kind of «mute compulsion», as Marx called it, which reveals a structural and systemic orientation of social actions and individual decisions towards the valorization of capital, and which becomes more visible and analyzable at critical times, when the «arc is in tension», to put it like Ortega. For this, we use, as a central analytical element, the category of subsumption of work in Capital.Existen ya cuantiosas evidencias que muestran el impacto diferencial, de clase, que ha tenido la pandemia. También, constatamos que la crisis sanitaria no desencadenó una crisis económica de la magnitud que auguraban algunos expertos. Esta investigación, que parte de las observaciones de campo de uno de los autores como técnico de prevención de riesgos laborales en distintas empresas, indaga en las disposiciones y habitus sociales que han coadyuvado a esta «inmunidad» de las tasas de ganancia empresariales, con una eficiencia y una agilidad inusitadas, de un modo más bien informal e inmanente. Tratamos de estudiar, en definitiva, esa suerte de «compulsión muda», como lo denominaba Marx, que revela una orientación estructural y sistémica de las acciones sociales y decisiones individuales hacia la valorización del capital, y que se hace más visible y analizable en momentos críticos, cuando el «arco está en tensión», para decirlo como Ortega.
