At a time when vacation rentals have been connected to the urban sphere and with their impact on the residential rental market, it is interesting to go to the international arena to account for how various cities have faced these problems. To this end, various cases will be analysed, specifically those of San Francisco, New York, London, Berlin and Amsterdam.El fenómeno de las viviendas de uso turístico ha generado en los últimos años un abundante tratamiento doctrinal en España desde diversos puntos de vista. No obstante, se aprecia la inexistencia de estudios que analicen dicha problemática más allá de nuestras fronteras. En un momento en el cual el alquiler vacacional se ha conectado con el ámbito urbanístico y con su incidencia en el mercado del alquiler residencial, resulta interesante acudir al ámbito internacional para dar cuenta de cómo se han enfrentado diversas ciudades a estas problemáticas.
