Summary: The purpose of this paper is to examine conceptual aspects of offshore wind technology and its future prospects, with special attention to the promotion regime planned so that this technology can play a key role in the current process of decarbonization and fight against climate change. climate change. In particular, we examine the regulatory roadmap in relation to offshore wind energy, which requires further exploration of fields such as Spanish maritime spatial planning, the development plan for the Spanish electricity transmission network for the 2021-2026 horizon and, in particular, the future regulatory framework (royal decree) for the development of offshore wind facilities, which has recently received numerous allegations in the prior public consultation phase.
