Laburpena: The new US administration has four difficult years ahead. However, none of the White House’s predecessors had an easy task: there are always several drawbacks. Now the problems to be faced are no longer opportunistic but systemic. In this context, the legacy of former President Trump in this area remains ominous and it is worrying that not only did bilateral relations end in the deepest crisis in recent decades, but under Trump almost all negotiating mechanisms which previously allowed solving problems or preventing their uncontrolled development were destroyed. Therefore, in this regard, this article seeks to analyze the situation from Biden’s first foreign policy speech, through the evaluation of a possible cold war and the isolationist tendency of the United States, to finally offer proposals for Russia, with the aim of preserving “good” relationships.
